GU Old Style Replacement Centre Case Gearbox 30mm Backset 92mm Centres Latch Deadbolt

This GU multipoint door lock centre case (or gearbox) suits the old style GU multipoint lock mechanism and so is not compatible with the new style or new versions of the GU lock.  This lock is sometimes stamped DGS and please note that the split spindle version is no longer manufactured. 
Please also note that this particular GU replacement gearbox has a 30mm backset but when fitted to lock strips that have a 2mm inward kink, the backset becomes 28mm.  It is also worth noting that the 45mm backset version is no longer manufactured: if this is your backset then a GU new style full length version of your lock will be required.
This particular 28/30mm version has a thick follower surround yet the 35mm version has a thin follower surround.  Please note that the original gearbox will have 28/92 , 30/92 or 35/92 stamped on the gearbox to help you identify which you need.
Changing the broken lock on a GU Old Style Gearbox is very straightforward and simply involves undoing 3 screws, removing the broken gearbox and re-fitting the new one and replacing the 3 screws.  If the latch needs reversing then just twist it to the desired position.
